The StoryCraft project

For senior craftsmen

The StoryCraft project aims to empower senior craftsmen with digital skills and ethical marketing know-how, promote sustainable crafts through audiovisual content, and foster transnational cooperation and exchange of knowledge in the field of sustainable craftsmanship.

StoryCraft

Three topics addressed by this project are

  • Creativity, arts and culture
  • Overcoming skills mismatch and addressing the needs of the labour market
  • Environment and climate change

The concrete objectives of the StoryCraft Project are to enhance digital skills and ethical marketing competences among adult craftsmen and artists, enabling them to promote sustainable crafts through audiovisual products.

The project offers several free resources to Artisans

Development of an open online training (MOOC)

A step-by-step guide consisting of six modules will be created for adult craftsmen and artists who want to learn ethical marketing and produce audiovisual content. This methodology will be translated into multiple languages. It will be piloted with adults. A user-friendly digital product will be developed to ensure easy access for seniors, including those in remote areas. The content will focus on teaching senior craftsmen how to highlight the sustainable aspects of their products, aligning with the goals of the European Green Deal and contributing to the fight against climate change.

Creation of a StoryCraft Movie

In collaboration with senior craftsmen from the three countries involved, the project partners will produce a promotional film showcasing the crafts. This collaborative effort between senior craftsmen and project experts will further enhance digital readiness and capacity. The project will also include three transnational meetings, where experts will exchange good practices and deepen their knowledge of sustainable craftsmanship in each region.  A final public event will be organized in Finland to showcase the results of the project at the Craft Museum of Finland on Wednesday 25.9.2024.

By sharing and promoting the project in three countries, partners reach a larger audience, utilizing their networks for wider dissemination and adoption of results. Partners can now operate in new countries, expanding their cross-border capabilities and transnational collaboration. Transnational cooperation facilitates the exchange of good practices in sustainable craftsmanship and cultural heritage, tailored to specific local areas for more comprehensive products.

The project promotes internationalization and networking of individual craftsmen’s companies, benefiting from connections and references established in other countries.

The transnational aspect allows partners to effectively use European platforms, extending the adoption of project results even to non-partner countries.
