Materia association, founded in 2011 in Central Finland, is an association for craft, design and material art professionals. We currently represent over 30 individuals of different disciplines. They specialize, among others, in textile design, metalworking, woodworking, glass and ceramics, furniture design and jewellery. We try to seek novel and innovative ways to use new materials, including recycled materials.

Materia is also a strong proponent of both local and national, craft and art industry growth. We aim to offer robust networking opportunities for anyone who is either interested in or already a strong professional of crafts and material art. Through our collaborative efforts, we have organized a wide variety of exhibitions, training and trade show opportunities.
